AWWIN

Stereotypes aside, most women have to work. It doesn’t matter if they want to -- or if they have child care, bus fare or appropriate clothing. Work is essential, especially to single mothers.
AWWIN is a Savannah-based, 501 (c) (3) corporation that helps single working women and their children. It provides extensive job and life skills training, along with emergency assistance for transportation, housing and child care. It also promotes education and screening for breast cancer –a disease that disproportionately affects working women.
Founded in 2000 by Sarahlyn Argrow, AWWIN has helped 450 women so far. It is known for its low dropout rate and extraordinary effectiveness in improving the lives of women and their children.

Our mission is to provide unified group with committed leadership pledged to promote, protect and serve the interests of the tourism and hospitality industries of the greater Savannah area. The TLC continually strives to provide our members with resources to strengthen their businesses. These resources include networking opportunities for industry professionals, educational seminars and training for industry employees, monthly luncheons with informative topics, a job-listing website and job fairs and an emergency fund available for members in times of crisis. The TLC is dedicated to leading the way for greater tourism in Savannah and strives to ensure that the needs of the local tourism industry are being addressed.
