Thank you for being a member of the Savannah Downtown Business Association. Members are the lifeblood of our organization and we thank you for your support. We encourage you to take an active part in your membership and participate in making downtown Savannah a prosperous one.

You can enhance your membership by joining one of our committees that assists the board of directors in promoting and advocating for small businesses. If interested in joining, please email admin@savannahdba.com. Below is a short overview of each committee and it’s time commitments.

  1. Finance – This committee works with the Treasurer and provides financial oversight for the organization including budgeting, financial planning and financial reporting, and the creation of internal controls and accountability policies.
    Time Commitment: Monthly meetings.
  2. Marketing & Programs – This committee is the voice of the organization. It promotes events, policies and messages to members, the general public and the media using press releases, posters, fliers, advertising and social media. It also assists other committees with organization, planning and execution of events.
    Time Commitment: Monthly meetings, along with 1 hour per week.
  3. Advocacy – This committee represents the interests of the membership on community issues related to the organizations mission.
    Time Commitment: meet once every month.
  4. Governance – This committee ensures that the Board of Directors and the association operate in compliance with our bylaws. It is also in charge of the nominating and appointment process for board members.
    Time Commitment: Q3 & Q4 monthly meetings for board appointment. Minimal time commitment throughout the year.
  5. Membership – This committee is responsible for recruiting new members and encouraging member retention.
    Time Commitment: Monthly meetings, along with 1 hour per week.
